Maple Sausage Breakfast Skillet

Here’s a family-friendly maple sausage breakfast recipe using R Family Farms' maple sausage:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb R Family Farms maple breakfast sausage

  • 4 medium potatoes, diced

  • 1 bell pepper, diced (red, green, or yellow for color)

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 4 large eggs

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the sausage:
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Crumble R Family Farms' maple sausage into the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.

  2. Prepare the potatoes:
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Toss in the diced potatoes and cook over medium heat until golden brown and crispy, about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally for even cooking.

  3. Add the veggies:
Add the diced onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the potatoes. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Mix in the sausage:
Return the cooked maple sausage to the skillet and stir to combine everything.

  5. Cook the eggs:
Make 4 small wells in the sausage-potato mixture and crack an egg into each well. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 4-6 minutes or until the eggs reach your preferred doneness.

  6. Add cheese & garnish:
Once the eggs are cooked, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the entire skillet. Cover for an additional minute to let the cheese melt. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

  7. Serve:
Serve hot with a side of toast, fresh fruit, or your favorite breakfast beverage.

This hearty and sweet-savory skillet is quick and perfect for family breakfast!
