Welcome Erin to our small team!
Foreword:
Kaden and I are so excited to be able to welcome Erin to our small team. She’s fit it perfectly so far, and has helped us become more efficient! If you can imagine, running a business, a farm, and having community obligations and part time jobs (phew!) can become a lot sometimes. If you get the chance to chat with Erin, we know she will make you feel just like family!
Hello! My name is Erin Lakamp. I am the new virtual assistant for R Family Farms. I
grew up in a small town in central Illinois, which is probably best known for our unique mascot,
a pretzel! To our knowledge, our school and only one other in the U.S. have this salty and
crunchy food as a mascot.
I grew up showing livestock in 4-H and FFA. I mainly showed cattle and horses, but
occasionally helped a friend with her show pigs. This is where my appreciation for
agriculture began. My goal is to continue to advocate and grow my passion within the
agriculture industry.
Currently, I am a senior at Kansas State University studying Agribusiness with a minor in
Communication Studies. After my graduation in December 2021, my intention is to pursue a
Master’s Degree in Agribusiness Administration.
Although moving away from my childhood home was hard, I have definitely found my
home in Manhattan, Kansas. My freshman year, I joined a sorority and have loved being a part of the
Greek community. I also was a member of the 2-time World Champion Horse Judging Team.
My time at K-State has been memorable to say the least.
Emily and Kaden, thank you for the opportunity to work with you and learn from you. I
am excited to join the R Family Farms team, and provide assistance to a dynamic, family-owned
business and its customers.
